Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
Negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is a therapeutic technique using a vacuum dressing to promote the healing process for acute or chronic wounds. NPWT enhances curing of first and second degree burns. The therapy consist of controlled application of sub-atmospheric pressure to the local wound surroundings, using a sealed wound dressing linked to a vacuum/suction pump.
